FAQ

What is the difference between HUMA and TrusT?

Humanities Applied, HUMA is a 510(c)3 nonprofit social organization. TrusT in Transit is a program of HUMA.

Is Trust a provider of legal and financial services?
What is the nonprofit side of it?

Short answer, no. TrusT does not directly provide legal or financial services directly. TrusT provides consulting and support. First, Trust combats disinformation, conducts research and provides legal and financial awareness, education and support for international professionals and entrepreneurs. Second, TrusT offers support to put together a preparedness kit that includes emergency plans, administrative and legal documents that may include nationality, ownership, powers of attorney and financial instruments to protect property and family integrity. Third, TrusT coordinates professional legal, financial and other services from trusted sources at reduced costs on a sliding scale basis thanks to public grants, subventions and pro nono work of local professionals.

Does Trust provide immigration advice?

No. Neither HUMA as the organization, nor TrusT as a program provide immigration advice.

What is the money of this emergency bridge fundraiser for, exactly?

With the closing of USAID and the reduction of federal social service funds, HUMA has lost all its funding. The emergency bridge fundraiser is designed to fund the overhead that keeps the organization open for three months while we set-up new sources of income. It includes funding for fees, cost reduction or support we pay on behalf of the people we help, and funds to hire a professional fundraiser as well.
