Folks who have worked hard and followed the rules, see themselves suddenly in an unexpected state of vulnerability. The network of support for the most vulnerable in our society vanished overnight when USAID closed, when the federal cuts gutted social service funds and Medicaid, and when the government shutdown froze key programs. Moreover, new groups who have never thought of themselves as vulnerable—doctors, engineers, construction workers, food service professionals, and families with mixed immigration statuses—find themselves one policy change or one administrative error away from spiraling into crisis.

When disaster strikes—whether a regulation shift, a visa change, a sudden loss of status, or when someone leaves, or is forced to leave loved ones behind—TrusT provides clarity, connection, dignity, and protection. Many of the folks we’ve served have faced forceful repatriation, or the sudden death of a head of household, whether due to unforeseen medical conditions or racially motivated violence. We’ve: • Helped a family stop an HOA from opportunistically seizing their home. • Guided six health professionals through new regulations so they could keep their hospital jobs. • Helped parents correct property titles, and other legal documents so they wouldn’t be collaterally affected by laws targeted at others, and see the State strip their parental rights away. • Supported families in building guardianship plans and financial safety nets—before a crisis hit. • Supported over a dozen entrepreneurs protect their ventures, and all their workers and families with preparedness plans to reduce stress and anxiety in these very uncertain times.
